What Makes Junior Achievement of SWFL a Good Neighbor…
Junior Achievement of SWFL (JA) prepares the future of Southwest Florida’s leaders and workforce by inspiring students with a diverse group of volunteer role models who teach them how to live, work, and prosper in their community. Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida was incorporated in 1994 under the direction of strong business leaders who were passionate about education and free enterprise. It is committed to giving young people the knowledge and skills needed to own their economic success, plan for the future, and make smart academic and economic choices. Programs are delivered by corporate and community volunteers and provide relevant hands-on experience that gives underserved K-12 students knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and workforce readiness. JA currently operates in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties. During the 2020-2021 school year, JA partnered with 91 volunteers to provide 13,831 students with programs in 576 classes throughout Southwest Florida. JA has successfully increased student impact by 77% over the past six years.
